例（１０）：Wordy: In the sense of his speech he talked on the question of securities.
Concise: During his speech he talked about securities.
例（１１）Wordy: During the proceeding year, the company was able to accelerate productive operations.
Concise: Last year, the company was able to accelerate productive operations.
例（１０）和例（１１）中wordy的句子里In the sense of 可以用During來代替，同為＂在．．．里＂的意思；on the question of 可以用about來替代，同為＂有關(guān)．．．，關(guān)于．．．＂同理,例（１１）中wordy的句子里的`During the proceeding year也可以用Last year來代替。沒有改變?cè)瓉砭渥右磉_(dá)的意思，而且顯得更加簡(jiǎn)潔，更加直白，在口語(yǔ)中更加常用。會(huì)使得讀信人更加容易理解。既然如此，商務(wù)信函寫作者為什么不用這些簡(jiǎn)潔、明了、清晰的常用詞來代替那些冗長(zhǎng)、累贅、空洞的短語(yǔ)呢？
