一、教學內容分析：

　　在本單元的warming-up學習中學生學習了世界英語的分支，已經在不同國家應用時候的差異。Reading部分"The Road to Modern English"通過對英語語言的發展歷史這一話題的探討，加強學生對英語語言的了解，特別是對英語發展趨勢的了解。通過本課的學習要讓學生了解英國英語、美國英語、澳大利亞英語、印度英語、新加坡英語等都有自己的慣用法和不同的發音規律。在完成本節課的學習后，學生能感受到英語語言的多層次和多元化，有助于培養學生的跨文化意識。

　　二、學情分析

　　我所帶的學生，英語基礎好的不多。大多數學生沒有興趣也沒有耐心閱讀完整篇文章更不要說掌握文意了。所以往往出現老師自問自答唱獨角戲的情況。為了照顧所有學生，讓每位學生都參與教學活動。在開展教研活動時，我們教學經驗豐富的教研組長提出了這個因材施教的任務教學方法。效果頗好。在這一過程中，即使有些學生在前面的fast-reading中對課文認識不夠，但經過后面的這一活動，絕大多數學生都能很好的理解課文。

　　三、教學目標

　　1. Language goals

　　（1）To learn the importance of English.

　　（2）Ss will be able to know the development of English and feel the role that culture plays in thechange of language.

　　（3）To know the difference between British English and American English.

　　（4）Ss will be able to know how to get the key sentence of a paragraph.

　　③The number of people who learn English as a foreign language is more than 750 million.

　　④In China students learn English at school as a foreign language, except for those in Hong Kong, where many people speak English as a first or a second language.
