　　一、追求優美要想讓短文達到優美的境地，最重要的是語法正確，用詞貼切。

　　但這遠遠不夠，還要做到以下兩點，才能使文章增色。

　　第一，使用較高級詞匯，并且避免重復使用同一單詞。20xx年高考題在表達"不應該收門票"時，不少考生寫了"A park should not want/receive/accept entrance fee."三個謂語動詞屬于較低級的詞匯，用在此意義尚可，但干澀無味，也不十分準確。換一種謂語"A public park should be free of charge."既能貼切地表達整體意義，又顯得句子地道、優美。再如"公園是休閑的地方"，很多同學都寫成"A park is a place in which people can rest and be free.""be free"固然不恰當，整句也很生硬，有逐字翻譯的感覺。如變通一下，"People need a place where they can rest and enjoy themselves."信息量增多，詞數減少，并且用了need a place，enjoy themselves，給人以妥貼、地道的美感，也給閱卷者留下交際水平高寫作能力強的印象，得分檔次隨之升高。

二、注意聯貫高考試題擬題時考慮到計分的統一尺度，內容上的得分點都做了科學的安排。

　　近幾年的內容得分點都有六、七個，寫全一個即可得分。但得分多少還要看語言表達水平，按不同檔次給分。由于考生比較注重對內容得分點的理解，所以這方面誤差或遺漏不多。失分的原因往往是各個要點之間缺乏聯貫，缺少內在的聯系。有些考生僅限于將要點一一寫出，就象翻譯句子一樣，沒有成文。

　　要想寫得聯貫，要做到兩點：第一， 適當加上"粘合劑".20xx年高考書面表達中，不少考生一開始便寫"60% of the students are against the idea of entrance fees."顯得很唐突。如果加上"Opinions are divided on the question."或"Students are heatedly discussing the question."與上文就比較聯貫，過渡自然。提到相反意見時，加上"On the other hand"就很恰當。常見的過渡詞語還有：as a result，at last，at present，in a word，in the meantime，in general，I think，等等。

　　第二，句子緊湊，信息量要大。有的考生，用短小的單句較多，顯得較松散。有的考生寫的句子雖然長，但有效信息量不大，顯得呆板、拖沓。要使短文聯貫就必須學會緊縮句子，用排比、遞進、平衡等等手法，或用并列句、復合句，在一句中表達較多的內容。例如，20xx年高考題表格右欄的三行文字，三個要點僅用一句話就能表達得淋漓盡致。

三、認真審題做題時切勿貿然動筆，應細讀題目要求，認真審題，對文章框架做到心中有數。

　　審題要明確三項內容：首先認清體裁。作文題可分自由式、半控制式和全控制式。高考書面表達歷來采用全控制式，亦稱指導性寫作（guided writing）。它的體裁、內容和篇幅都有明確的'限定。體裁有敘述文、描寫文、說明文和應用文。應用文包括書信、通知、日記等。無論提供材料的方式是通過文字、圖畫還是表格，要求寫的文章體裁都是唯一的。體裁、格式、風格是緊密聯系的，一定的體裁有特定的格式。但是，相同的體裁也可能表達的人稱、風格和說話的口吻相異。這需要細心思考才能確定。

　　第二，要考慮文章的主要時態。動詞時態的錯誤是閱卷時最容易發現的錯誤之一。時態錯誤多是考生語言運用能力較差的顯著標志。因此在寫作中要力求避免時態錯誤。

　　第三，要琢磨表達內容的次序和短文的基本框架。英語書面表達無須插敘、倒敘，基本次序與所給提示一致即可。20xx年高考由于考生審題不慎，將書面表達寫得層次不清。有的把兩個截然不同的，又沒有可比性的觀點放在一句中表達，給人一種模糊、零亂的感覺。其實英語作文審題與漢語作文是相通的，只要有足夠的重視，遵循"慢審快寫"的原則，正確審題是不難做到的。

　　 By "luxury", we mean "a pleasant and often expensive thing that is not necessary". From a historical point of view, things which Were a luxury when they first came into being all became necessities later. When the electric bulb was first invented in the U.S., it was such a luxury that only government bodies could afford to use it. Nowadays, however, it has reached every part of the world. It is the same case with telephone, TV, and a lot of others, which were all luxuries years ago.

　　Anything, no matter how luxurious it is, will become a necessity when it is widely used. This is true of many of the present luxuries, including mobile phones, cars, computers and many other things. It is known to all that the purpose of the development of science is to make things easy for the mankind, not for only a small number of people. Therefore, the first thing to do after a new invention occurs is to spread it so as to benefit as many people as possible. In the course of the spread, the luxury becomes decreasingly luxurious until in the end it becomes a necessity. This is an objective law, nothing can be an exception.

　　With the quick development of science and technology, the process for many things to become a necessity from a luxury will be greatly shortened. Anything that can be imagined will be invented and in no time becomes a necessity accessible to ordinary people.
