my hometown is lhasa, the largest city on the roof of the world. it is the heart and soul of tibet. i think lhasa is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. it is surrounded by towering mountains and rarely a day goes by when you don’ t see the deep blue sky. lhasa river is flowing quietly around the city.
lhasa is the mixture of tradition and fashion.
firstly, lhasa has a long history. it is the political, cultural and economic center of tibet. it has lots of famous sights to offer. the potala palace is the most famous, a magnificent and wonderful place to look at. in my opinion it is a unique artistic achievement of the tibetan people. likewise, the architecture, carvings and paintings throughout the city show hard work, wisdom and bravery of our people.
secondly, led by the reforming and opening policy of china, lhasa has changed a lot. many new things have arrived up here, changing the face of the city. the old and new lie side by side in lhasa.
many new buildings, schools and roads have been built here. furthermore, the qing—zang railway leading to lhasa is being built. many shopping centers have been opened, and modern technology like telecommunications is spreading. the whole city looks prosperous, and our tibetan people take on a new look. every festival, people walk around freely on the new, wide and smooth stree.

right now, i am looking forward to a festival called shodün which comes in june for eating yoghurt. at this time, all my family and i gather for a picnic together at the norbulinka, a famous garden. in the garden, we sing tibetan songs, dance “guo zhuang” on the grass; eat zanba, drink butter tea and barley beer on the beautiful carpet as well. we enjoy our life. i think that this festival exhibits the open-minded and optimistic character of the tibetan people.

lishui, where i was born and brought up, is a small and beautiful town located in the coastal areas, being rich in fish and rice. everyone is proud of her or his hometown. i was no exception .i love my hometown and i am so pleased to introduce my hometown to you.
surrounded by towering mountains, lishui is the first pilot area of state-level ecological demonstration area in zhejiang, with ou river runs through. the sky is very blue and the water is very clean. you can often hear birds singing and sheep bleating, see big trees and nice flowers everywhere, and breathe fresh air full of the fragrant flowers. it just likes a cute lady stand quietly here, waiting for her beloved gentleman. it has many nice scenic spots, such as xiandu, mountain baishanzhu, grottoes shimen, and so on. the food here also tastes very delicious. thousands of people from other parts of china and foreign countries come here every year, especially in holidays, most of who enjoy every minute here.
my hometown is so lovely. all the more i love people there. the majority are hard working so as to make it richer and more beautiful. furthermore, they are all friendly and warm-hearted to others. if one is in trouble, do not worry, there always be a hand from others. i’m sure you will have a wonderful time in my hometown.

If you travel from the outside to Ya’an along a wide and clean road, you will arrive at a beautiful place which only can appear in your dream, But now , I will tell you that you are not dreaming. This beautiful place named“TianQuan”─my hometown, it stands near the Qingyi river at the foot of Erlang mountain, It is a small city covered by green and it’s famous for the beautiful scenery, excellent climate and long history.
In the past, it was poor. People who once came here did not want to come again ，why?The streets were full of rubbishes and the buildings were old and small，when there were strong winds the buildings were shaking as if they wanted to say “Hello”to you.
But today，with the lead of our government, many changes have taken place，life is much better than before.
First, flowing on modern agriculture, theader guide peasants to use advanced technology to develop agriculture.Such as ,keeping chickens in cages, planting fruit trees. As a result, the economy developed reasonably.
Tourism is another way to develop economy .You know that there are many interesting places in Tianquan. If you come to visit these places, the people there will offer the best for you and give you a lot of pleasure. The most famous one is “Laba He”，There, the air is so clear and you can see trees and mountains everywhere some said：“In summer it is green like a fountain，and in winter it is white like a white jade, so it attracts thousands of towns from all over the world ”.
Finally，the leaders pay much attention to the education，They have trained more and more skilled person. Most of then come back to our hometown and devote all their loves to our hometown.
In order to build our hometown into a land of economic prosperity, political stability and beautiful landscape. It is succeed in depending on the joint efforts of the whole people and may be depending on several generation, As a student ,I hope one day I can come back with more advanced knowledge to develop my hometown ，I believe there will be a brighter future waiting for my hometown.
