　　人生的道路是曲折坎坷的，遇到失敗是再平常不過的事，我們應該時時刻刻擁有一顆堅強、不屈服的心來面對失敗，成功就一定會向我們走來。

　　古巴的圣地亞哥老人已經八十四天一無所獲了，第八十五天，帶著祝福和魚餌又頑強地駕船出海了：他要去深海捕一條大魚。這一次他碰上了一條足有18英尺長，比他還大的魚，他對這條大銀魚(馬林魚)充滿了贊美和尊敬，同時這更激起了圣地亞哥向它挑戰的決心。大魚與老人默默地對峙，時而把船拖向深海，時而圍著船打轉，時而要用掀起的巨浪把船打翻……老人與大魚奮戰了兩天兩夜，在這個過程中，他不斷地和魚、鳥和大海對話，不斷地想或回憶往事。憑著頑強的毅力和堅強的信念，他終于挺了過來，征服了那個龐然大物。意想不到的是，在老人將要把馬林魚拖回去的時候，大批的鯊魚被吸引而來，爭吃捆在船邊上的馬林魚。已經筋疲力盡的圣地亞哥老人雖然竭盡全力與鯊魚搏斗，但那條大魚仍舊被成群的鯊魚咬得只剩下一副空空的骨架。最后，圣地亞哥老人把這巨大的空骨架拖回了岸邊。

　　老人靠自己的精神與理念，堅韌地支撐著，他最終戰勝了大魚，也戰勝了失敗，戰勝了自己。我們在學習上也要有這種精神，如：在做數學題時遇到難題，就應該多動動腦，不要動不動就放棄。
