Just like many cities, there are a lot of cars, buses and trucks. So the air in the city is not clean. Guangzhou is a noisy and crowded city. But I like it best. Because Guangzhou is my home.

　　Ever since the birth of it, the computer has largely changed human being’s life and there has been a hot debate about its effects on humans. Undeniably, computers have taken the place of humans in many areas and it seems that computers begin to think like man, but this does not necessarily lead to the danger that man will think like computers.

　　The reasons, in my opinion, are as follows. Firstly, when computers release human from repetitive tasks, humans themselves can spend more time on creative works, such as scientific research, which require imagination and cannot be completed by computers. Meanwhile, thanks to computers, humans get more spare time with their friends and family, which enhances their happiness. Moreover, even though computers can work automatically, the premise is that the program, which is written by humans, has been installed in it.

　　In conclusion, humans, unlike computers, have creative ability, emotional desires and social bounds. Thus, I don’t think that there will be the danger that man will begin to think like the computer.

　　City Problems Nowadays, millions of migrant workers flock into cities in search of jobs and better living. However, with the sharp rise in the urban population, many problems arise in the development of cities.

　　Firstly, cities become more and more crowded, putting much pressure upon transportation, housing, sanitation, education, employment and so on. City services and facilities have been strained to a breaking point. Secondly, a growing number of private cars emit huge amount of carbon dioxide, leaving the air mercilessly polluted. What is more, the city is also threatened by rising crime. Not a single day passes without the report of someone being robbed, kidnapped or murdered.

　　Last but not least, city-dwellers are not only separated from the natural world but also isolated from each other, even not knowing the name of their next-door neighbor.

People, who at first do not trust business transactions on Internet, now become convinced that doing business on Internet is very convenient and effective. 　　Despite months of anticipation, nothing could have prepared me for the impact of the actual day.Among thousands of new comers sitting on the broad lawn in front of the famous XiangHui Auditorium, listening to the speeches by the principal and student representatives, I felt myself consumed by a rush of both joy and nervousness. What would college be like? Would the other students like me? And what about the workwould I be able to keep up? Being a student in high school seemed to offer little assurance of my being able to survive college, especially in FDU which is abundant of excellent counterparts. Panic set in.It had been nice being respected as a senior by the underclass students for the past year;I didn＇t quite enjoy the idea of being on the bottom rung of the ladder again.I was not assured whether I wanted to grow up after all.

　　As if in a daze, I rose up with my new classmates around to show respect to the school song which was to be performed. As the solemn music flowed, I knew that I was hearing not just a song but the foot step of a brand new life. Exciting as the prospeet of a new life seemed, it wasn＇t quite easy saying goodbye to the old onethe familiar faces, the familiar routine. I would eyen miss those days when fully engaged in preparing for the college entrance exams though they were so tiring and the long commute between home and school that took me several hours each week. Good or bad, it was that I knew.

　　This September, I was one of the volunteers to welcome the new comers and guide them around the campus. I found the familiar mixed feelings shown on their faces. I needn＇t have worried about if I would like FDU, since my year here has turned out to be one of the best years of my life. Although going back to those days is impossible, it＇s comforting to know I can revisit my special memories any time.
