英語作文 篇1
The background of the story lies in the Second World War. Nazis German started attacking Poland and England and France chose not to make respond to that in order to avoid being involved in. Therefore, Poland had to fight the evil all by herself. There were about 500,000 Jewish there in Poland and the Nazis wanted Jewish to die out, so they did every thing inhuman they could think of towards Jewish. The Second World War began in 1939 when all the people, especially Jewish, began to experience the most dreadful and absurd war ever.
The story took place under the background, and the hero was a pianist, Mr.Szpilman ,help me correct it,please.。Poland was in an atmosphere of violence and insecurity then and all people were living in an extreme horror. But Szpilman stuck to playing piano on the radio all the way before Poland was bombed. See what the Nazis did to the ordinary citizens— a group of German officers broke into a house and ordered all the people present to stand up. There was a disabled old people, who couldn’t stand up, so they lifted the old man and threw him downstairs from high above, which led the old man to die on the spot; the Nazis asked people to dance on the street to shame them. All Jewish were driven out of their land; there were bodies everywhere on the street. The pianist was separated with his family by one of his Jewish friend who became a help hand for the Nazis. He walked on the empty street, crying. Though he got the precious chance to escape from the palm of devil for a while, he felt nothing but desperate. I don’t know what on earth supported him to live on, but I do admire his desire for life. We can’t imagine hard it was to live with nothing, no relatives, no one talking to you, no things to do`````` he lived totally on himself. What’s worse was that there was no food. Many times, the pianist almost fainted because of undernourishment and hunger. One day when he finally found a can after having noting for a couple of days and was trying to open it, he was discovered by a German officer.
“What are you?” the officer asked.
Frightened and shaky, the pianist answered, “I am a pianist.”
“Come and show me.”
The pianist staggered by the piano, sat down, closed his eyes and thought for a while, then began playing. He became skinny after so many hard days and his clothes were dusty. He frowned slightly and was so addicted to the piece of music that contained all his emotions. At the very beginning, he probably didn’t dare to express his anger through the music, so he merely played slowly with a feeling that was not so strong. Gradually, he couldn’t control his sorrows and anger any more. It seemed that he forgot how weak he was and what situation he was in. He concentrated on that piece of splendid music he was playing. His face became twisted because the piano sound brought him back to the sadness. As a pianist, he should be with great self-esteem which was now stepped on by the basic physical needs. His motherland was being ruined by the Nazis but he could do nothing but live narrowly.
The pianist’s devotion moved the officer. Deeply. So he brought him food and clothes to assist the pianist until the good news came. Poland was released by Russia and the Nazis were defeated by the union army composed by 26 countries.
The pianist continued playing piano for the audience after being rescued. Maybe the special experience will add some other elements into his music and made it more colorful, I think.
That was the end of the story. It was said that the film was adapted from a true story of Wladyslaw Szpilman. He continued to live in Warsaw, Poland until his death on 6th, July, 20xx. He was 88 years old. And the German officer did exist. His name is Wilm Hosenfeld. All that is known is that he died in a soviet prisoner-of-war camp in 1952.
I like the film for its reality.
英語作文 篇2
During my summer holiday in 20xx, I found a part-time job as a cleaner in KFC. I did not realize that it was not an easy job before I didit. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The job was tiring and boring because I had to get up early and went to bed late. Every day I had to repeat the same work, which nearly made me mad. I almost gave it up, but finally I sticked it out until thenew semester began. The experience taught me a lesson that there is no free lunch. I have to work hard to get what I want. So the experience is very meaningful and I know the value of labour.
During the summer vacation in 20xx, I worked as a cleaner in the KFC. I had to work seven hours a day, which would last three weeks. The work was very hard and dull. It was so boring that I wanted to give it up. At that time I thought of a saying Where there isa will, there is a way.Never give up! I warned myself. Finally I sticked it out. I finished the job before the new semester began. Just as the saying goes, No pains, no gains. Now I understand the value of labour.
Nowadays, when we watch the movie or the TV series, we may find violence shot everywhere, such as the movie about a cop fighting with a gangster, so many violence is being presented, the process of the cop beats the gangster is so clearly. People watch this scene with great joy, while they don’t realize it has great effect on the kids. Kids are so small that they don’t have the sense of judge, they like to imitate what they think is cool. Under such circumstance, we always read the news about teenagers showing violence and go against the law. There are many gunshot cases in campus, the killers are teenagers, and it is so shocking. The spread of the violence in the camera should be limited; it should not be showing too much. A good movie is not famous for its violent presentation, so in order to be good for the teenagers, violence shot should be limited.
