The use of credit cards
As the economy is developing so rapidly, people’s attitude towards life is changing at the same time. Credit cards are becoming more and more popular. but what advantages and disadvantages do they have?
Firstly, it is quite convenient ant safe for us to use a credit card. Cash-stolen does not exist in this way. People now take a card instead of a heavy purse wherever they go. Secondly, credit cards represent great honour. People using credit cards shows his special identity and draw others attention.
On the other hand, credit cards are not always that good. Credit cards can lead to overspending somehow. People pay more than they have and then get busy paying off. Furthermore the credit card cheating happens more often.
In my opinion, credit cards do good in our life. But we should use them carefully. Only when used credit cards properly can make contribution to a more convenient and safer life.

Many people have the difficulty to make decision, because they have no idea what they want and then just follow the crowd. When they realize what they want, they feel regretful. For the lucky person, they have the chance to restart, while for some don’t, they just live the life without passion.
I remembered before we went to college, we needed to choose the major. Most students did not know what to do, so they made a survey, the hot major which was believed to have the promising future was their first choice. As they studied, some would find they had no interest but they just couldn’t give up. If they thought twice before act, then they would not follow the crowd.
I appreciate the saying that you are so special, why you have to follow the crowd. Indeed, some make their decision for the purpose of catering for others, which go against their will. If people lose their individuality, they lose their soul.

一、研究背景
在實際教學(xué)中,我們發(fā)現(xiàn)傳統(tǒng)的文科教學(xué),在作文(包括英語作文)的批改上盛行著兩種方法:一是教師用刺眼的紅筆進行“√”和“×”批閱,最后用一兩句不痛不癢的話稍作點評;另一種則是教師經(jīng)常對學(xué)生的作文進行面批。對于前者,幾乎所有人(包括進行批改的教師)都認(rèn)為其效果甚微,這種簡單但過于“粗放”的方式顯然已跟不上當(dāng)今的英語教學(xué);但對于后者,在肯定其效果以及教師的敬業(yè)心之時,我們不得不為那超負(fù)荷的工作量給教師身心帶來的巨大壓力而擔(dān)心,同時也為他們在外語教育和教學(xué)時間分配上的合理性感到憂慮。毫無疑問,作文批改已成為英語教師和其他文科教師最耗時和最疲憊的工作。而且,即使付出了許多時間和精力,其反饋效果還是不太理想,使得很多學(xué)生學(xué)了十多年的英語,卻拿不出一篇通順像樣的作文。為此,筆者試圖從傳承與創(chuàng)新的角度,提出幾種想法,以求教于大方。
二、研究的內(nèi)容和方法
教師的批改和反饋不僅要給學(xué)生的作文一個等級或者分?jǐn)?shù),還要作出一種過程評價。只有充分體會到了寫作和反饋的過程,學(xué)生才能始終處于一種主動的學(xué)習(xí)之中,反饋的效果才會更加趨向于合理化和理想化。因為學(xué)生寫作是一個過程,寫作后的反饋是寫作過程的延續(xù),學(xué)生寫作能力的提高與否同教師的反饋效果密切相關(guān)。由此可見,有效批改和反饋的作用不言而喻。那么,如何對學(xué)生的作文進行有效的批改和反饋呢?
1. 創(chuàng)造人性化的'反饋環(huán)境,兼顧不同學(xué)生的寫作水平
所謂創(chuàng)造人性化的反饋環(huán)境是指教師應(yīng)該站在學(xué)生的立場上,貼近每位學(xué)生的興趣、愛好和個性特長因材施“評”。這不僅可以緩解學(xué)生思想上的壓力,還可以激發(fā)學(xué)生的寫作興趣。因此,對于寫作基礎(chǔ)較好的學(xué)生除了肯定之外還要給出改進意見;對于寫作基礎(chǔ)較差的學(xué)生,則應(yīng)采取鼓勵與指導(dǎo)相結(jié)合的方式——使用激勵性的語言樹立其自信心,并用商量的口氣予以指導(dǎo)。
(1)當(dāng)堂批改
學(xué)生剛寫好作文,對題目的理解、構(gòu)思、結(jié)構(gòu)、用詞造句等都還記憶猶新,若此時教師趁熱打鐵,當(dāng)堂指導(dǎo)學(xué)生進行批改,就能產(chǎn)生很好的批改效果。如:以“How to Build a Harmonious Society?”為例,筆者根據(jù)對學(xué)生的了解,制訂了如下的當(dāng)堂批改方案。分別選出好、中、差各一篇作文(不署名且事先不告訴學(xué)生各篇作文的等級),通過教室投影放映給全班學(xué)生閱讀,然后通過電腦顯示提供評價標(biāo)準(zhǔn):作者的觀點是否明確;各段是否服務(wù)于該觀點;段落間及段與段的連接是否合理、流暢;結(jié)尾是否做到了首尾呼應(yīng)或深化主題,或提出了解決問題的建議等。再讓學(xué)生對照標(biāo)準(zhǔn),評價這三篇作文。這樣做的目的在于讓學(xué)生明白作文評分要從內(nèi)容(思想和材料)、語言和結(jié)構(gòu)三方面入手。接著要求學(xué)生對這三篇作文作總體反饋。學(xué)生的反饋與實際情況可能大相徑庭,不過教師恰好可以就這點進行針對性的分析。然后,教師再進行示范性的分析,分別指出三篇課堂習(xí)作中的優(yōu)缺點。這樣,不同層次的學(xué)生都有了參照,都有了發(fā)展的空間,也便于學(xué)生對自己的作文有更為深入的了解。
(2)彩色批改
傳統(tǒng)的做法是教師用紅筆批改學(xué)生作文中的錯誤,然后給出分?jǐn)?shù)。紅筆批閱的內(nèi)容也就是錯誤的內(nèi)容。殊不知,學(xué)生的心理是害怕紅色,甚至抵制紅色的。既然這樣,那何不換位思考一下呢? 不妨試著和學(xué)生進行溝通,使用一些學(xué)生認(rèn)可的方法進行批改。有些教師在批改學(xué)生作文時,嘗試用綠色熒光筆畫出學(xué)生習(xí)作中的好詞好句,用紫色畫出學(xué)生在時態(tài)和搭配等方面的錯誤。紫色的批改常側(cè)重在句子層面的錯誤上,更易于學(xué)生進行改錯和加強記憶。實踐證明,用除紅色外的彩筆進行修改,不會對學(xué)生造成視覺上的沖擊,可以緩解紅色的過度“警示作用”對學(xué)生自信的打擊。所以,彩色批改法不僅不傷害學(xué)生的自尊,而且還使教師和學(xué)生擺脫了審美疲勞。這種批改方法也可用于學(xué)生的相互批改中。
(3)符號批改
根據(jù)研究,教師的批改中有相當(dāng)一部分屬于“雞肋”,因為這些所謂的“錯誤”僅僅是與教師的風(fēng)格不太吻合而已。如此“食而無味”的“雞肋”不僅不能提高學(xué)生的寫作水平,還有可能因此而改變了學(xué)生原想表達(dá)的意思。符號批改的出現(xiàn),既減輕了教師的負(fù)擔(dān),又給學(xué)生提供了思考的余地。學(xué)生由接受教師的既定觀點變成了主動進行探究性的學(xué)習(xí),使學(xué)生真正成為寫作的受益者。

A debate heated up recently, thanks to Amy Chua’s book about a Chinese “tiger mother”. In her latest book entitled “The Battle Hymn of a Tiger Mother”, Amy describes how she adopt s traditional Chinese methods to educate her children, which is considered by many westerners to be too hard and inhuman.
One of the issues being discussed after the book was published is whether early education should focus on children’s happiness. Those supporting the idea argue that early education is intended to help children grow up in a cheerful atmosph ere and inspire them to better themselves in an all-round way. Therefore we should allow children to enjoy the happiness which can only be found during their childhood. On the contrary, people holding the opposite view insist that since in reality life is full of happiness and pain, children should be well prepared for that even during childhood. Otherwise, they would find it hard to adapt to life in the future.
In my opinion, just as Confucius said, education methods should be adopted based on individual personalities. Moreover, educators should respect children as independent human beings.
