The king’s speech
This movie tells the story about the British king—George VI, who is the father of the present king of Britain Queen Elizabeth II. Bertie(George VI) has something wrong with his speaking because of some reasons in his child. With the help of an unorthodox speech therapist named Lionel Logue, Bertie overcomes those difficulties. Lionel takes some unexpected measures to cure Bertie, and it works well.Bertie can speak fluently in front of the microphone, and his speech encourages British to fight against Germany. Then, Bertie changesinto a real British King and leads the British to victory in World War II. Besides, both of them establishes deep friendship with each other.
As we all know, as a public person, the most important ability is speech. A politician wants to conquer the people, he must be good at public speaking. A person who does well in speaking, is more than a million soldiers and can defeat the army without combat. However, as a public man, Bertie is seriously a failure. When his older brother abdicates, he must be a king. He has to speak in public though he does not do like that. In fact, Britain is a constitutional monarchy and the king is more an actor than a politician. As a king, Bertie is poor and moved guy. In the movie, we can see Bertie’s fearful appearance before speech, but he tries this best to do it well. Besides, for Lionel, we can see that he tries his best to help Bertie and he treats Bertie as a friend not a king. When he thinks he makes a mistake, he decides to make an apology to Bertie. But Bertie does not receive him and Lionel have to leave. However, when Bertie comes back to look for help from him, he is not angry and help Bertie. In a word, what makes me touched are: Bertie’s poor situation and his insistence, Lionel’s attitude and their deep friendship.
As a king, Bertie is poor. He must “act” in public. However, he is not good at speaking. When I see his painful face before speech, I am very care him. He must exercise more and do it well. Faced with complex international situation, he has to speak in public to encourage British to be brave so that they can get through the
difficulties.
As a speech therapist, Lionel is unorthodox. He treats Bertie as a friend than a king. He insists on his thoughts and demands equal way in curing Bertie. Lionel is very kind and help Bertie a lot. He thinks Bertie deserves the king and has conflicts with Bertie. After that, with his wife’s advice, he decides to make an apology to Bertie. But, he is given the cold shoulder. However, when Bertie needs his help, he help him without any hesitation.
The friendship between a noble and a common person is very deep. Bertie trusts his doctor and treats him as a friend. Lionel treats Bertie as a friend and just wants to help him but not for the money.
Above all, the king’s speech is a moving movie.Bertie’s efforts, Lionel’s truth and their friendship are melting. From it, I can learn a lot about how to be a good person.

The name of the movie that I watched was “the King's Speech”. The film tells the story of King George VI . George VI was the younger brother of King Edward VIII who is to give up the beauty of the country, when Edward abdicated, he reluctantly boarded the throne. However, George VI had very severe stutter, it is very difficult to make a speech for him, he even could not speaka few simple words. Fortunately, he met a speech therapist Lionel Logue, through a series of training they become friends, the king's stuttering has been greatly improved, and then he made his famous Christmas speech, encouraged the British soldiersand civilians of World War II.
By watching this movie, what attracts me most is that it giving a spirit of perseverance.From this film, I learned that in spite of we have weakness and shortcomings, as long as we persevere and make efforts to achieve our dream, eventually we will succeed.In our life, we will encounter many difficulties and setbacks. In face of these difficulties, sometimes we even thought of giving up. We fear the immediate difficulties, always thinking that we could not beat it. However, atmost time what we really can not beat is not difficult, but rather our heart. During the study, maybe we are not smart and have a bad memory, sometimes we could not find the right solution of one question and we will feel headache about that. At that time if we stop and get down then we’llnot be success. But if we choose studying continuously and eventually we will find that it does not very difficult, then soon we will get the right solution.If we lack wisdom, we should learn enough diligence.Our life is the same, most of us are not beautiful and not slim, we will feel a lot of shortcomings, but through continuous efforts, we will become what we want to be.If we do not have a beautiful face, we can eich our inner and read more books to broaden our horizons. If we do not own slim figure, we can be acquired through the exercise becomes beautiful.We know that the life of each of us has ups and downs, but we should not be afraid of difficulties and have the courage to overcome it, step by step practice then we will eventually succeed.
The man whose inner lack of courage that can’t overcome their own and they must unable to succeed.We should remember that as long as we face up to the problems encountered, problems will be solved.We will not be beat by anything except our own beliefs.Do not be afraid of our own shortcomings and deficiencies, these will be changed by our will.
