The Palace Museum is located in the center of Beijing. It is also known as the Forbidden City in the old days. The Forbidden City can be divided into two parts: the Outer Court and the Inner Palace. The Meridian Gate was the place to announce the new lunar year calendar on the first day of 10th lunar month every year.
